Azka Zubairy

Azka is an LLB Law with Spanish (Hons) graduate. She joined the department in 2019 after graduating from the University of Liverpool and currently specialises in both mental health law and mental capacity law. She is particularly interested in promoting and protecting the rights of vulnerable and incapacitated people. Azka deals with Court of Protection cases regarding clients’ welfare matters as well as appeals against their deprivation of liberty. She also deals with forensic and non-forensic Tribunal cases for patients detained under the Mental Health Act, including taking instructions and attending section 117 / CPA meetings and Hospital Managers hearings.

Outside of work, Azka enjoys spending time with her family and cats as well baking as many sweet treats as possible.
