RMNJ Criminal Law Solicitors

Legal Aid Lawyer of the Year Awards – Finalist 2008

Our Services

At RMNJ we have experience of cases in the Magistrates Court through to the House of Lords. We deal with many different types of case, from speeding offences to murder. We benefit from strong links with our Mental Health department. We also have a Trading Standards expert.

Our customers have access to a team of highly qualified and motivated lawyers and paralegals. We also have in-house Higher Court Advocates who regularly appear in the Crown Court and have appeared in all courts up to and including the Court of Appeal.

RMNJ has substantial membership of the Duty Solicitor Scheme. This means that we have the knowledge and experience to deal with any matter for which a person may be under arrest.

Our clients also benefit from the extensive presence that we have in local police stations, not only through our Duty Solicitors, but also through our highly trained and qualified accredited representatives.

The Mental Health Department of RMNJ complements the service that we are able to offer to our clients, since several of our lawyers and paralegals have experience of both areas of law. For example, some of our lawyers are both Criminal Duty Solicitors and members of the Mental Heath Review Tribunal Panel.

Should our clients be incarcerated we sustain our relationship with them through our Prison Law Department. We are at their side to help maintain their rights.

The public purse funds most of our work, but we do accept fee-paying work, which would not be covered by the Legal Aid scheme. In these cases we will attempt, wherever possible, to quote fixed fees for the specific case rather than hourly rates. The client thereby gains a great deal of certainty in knowing in advance what the final cost will be for the work undertaken.

We are also able to offer help with all aspects of cases relating to Road Traffic Offences. We provide advice and representation in courts throughout England and Wales.

Additionally, all of the lawyers and support staff have a good knowkledge of the current law involving youths.

We all receive regular training to keep us up to date with any changes and developments in all aspects of criminal law.
